What am I Doing?

Well, I'm currently cleaning up my deviations, so if anyone has anything in particular that they really like, please let me know so that I don't take it down ;)
I'm not feeling very satisfied with my work, and I want desperately to improve, but I'm really just feeling a bit discouraged, so I don't know. I love photography, but I'm not so sure I'm a natural at it. I feel the burning need to be good at some kind of art. I feel like I need to express myself and to CREATE something I'm proud of in order to express my feelings. I don't know exactly how to describe it, but I can't just stop trying to be artistic, but I'm not sure I could ever be a natural at it or produce anything exceptional. I don't know how to get better or what to do in order to produce something good. In other words, I'm frustrated. I thought that maybe photography was my thing--I really like it. But I don't know what I'm doing anymore.
Can anyone offer any pointers? I don't know.
Anyway, sorry if I sound whiny, that's not my mood or what I intend this to reflect at all. Just venting and asking for suggestions. Please feel free to be as harsh as necessary.
